Why Costa Rica?
Connectivity and Strategic Location

1. Connectivity: Costa Rica offers easy access from the most important cities in North America and Europe. It has two international airports - the Juan Santamaria airport in the Central Valley and the Daniel Oduber Quirós airport in Guanacaste - and is just a one-hour flight from the biggest hub in the Americas. Eighteen airlines offer more than 400 weekly flights to and from the country.

2. Strategic Location: The country is located in the tropical region of Central America between the two American continents. This creates a variable, but enjoyable, climate year-round, with temperatures averaging between 21 and 26 ºC.

Experience and Quality and Well-Being

3. Experience: Costa Rica is a leading international destination for meetings and incentive travel.

4. Quality and Well-Being: A quality study of the public health system ranked the country seventh in the world and first in Latin America and Central America.

5. Excellent Infrastructure: With a total of 50,500 rooms and contruction of a new Convention Center with a capacity for meetings of up to 3,000 delegates. Costa Rica has become the perfect destination for meetings and incentive travel.

6. Advanced Education: The country´s educational system has embraced a high level of digital learning. Currently, 90%of our schools and institutions are connected and provide access to digital technology. About 44% of the population has pursued further education beyond high school.

7. Range of Activities: Costa Rica´s geographical diversity ranges from mountains and active volcanoes to breathtaking beaches bathed by the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. This increible geography creates numerous microclimates and makes Costa Rica an ideal location for your meeting or incentive travel.

8. Sustainable by Nature: We are a global leader in the production of clean energy that is free from fossil fuels and generated from renewable sources. We rely on hydroelectric, geothermic and wind production. The industry is committed to responsible development and respect for nature, and we are determined to leave a better future for the next generations.

Deductions for u.s taxpayers

Costa Rica holds a privileged status for meetings organized by U.S. companies. Under section 274 (h) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States and Internal Revenue Service decision 94-56, section 274 (h)(6), Costa Rica is considered to be part of the “North American Area” and individuals attending conventions, seminars or conferences and the like in Costa Rica can claim deductions for expenses incurred at those events. They receive the same consideration for deductions as if the event were held in the United States.
